Nauset Rental launched in 2014 out of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Outer Cape, and the story behind it is personal. Founder and CEO Kent Zelle grew up spending summers on Cape Cod and eventually took over his grandmother's home, only to find that managing it from afar with industry best practices and standards was nearly impossible. After trying various managers—both local companies that lacked technology and revenue performance, and national brands that prioritized scale over service—he set out to build something that offered both. 

Our mission is to revolutionize the vacation rental industry for homeowners and guests alike. Using cutting-edge technology and efficient processes honed through our experience with Fortune 500 companies, we are committed to providing a superior vacation rental management solution that pairs deep Cape roots with the data-driven approach, uncommon in the local market when we launched. 

While we have received offers for funding, our priority is to remain family-owned and independent. We are focused on building a sustainable company that will be a valuable part of our local ecosystem for years to come. Our ultimate goal is to offer top-tier service that sets the standard for vacation rental management.
